The full-bloomed lotus symbolizes beauty, purity and serenity. The candle with the flame is suggestive of aspiration and enlightenment. The book stands for learning of which this institution is the seat. The anchor symbolizes the ancient maritime trade and commerce of Odisha. The motto in Sanskrit "TAMASO MAA JYOTIR-GAMAYA" underlines the fact that the learners are to be led from ignorance(darkness) to knowledge(light).
